    • Navigate Learning How To Learn Mental Models

    Quick Summary

The Subtraction Learning Method is, in essence, the mental model Success By Subtraction applied to learning. It’s one of the most useful mental models but, as it often happens, it can be challenging to apply it. That’s why we did a series of 3 classes to help you practice this method and we organized a 7-day learning challenge that you can now do on your own.

This model doesn’t have a Mastery Manual of its own so I recommend you first get familiar with the underlying model, Success By Subtraction, to get the most out of this learning practice.

Success By Subtraction 7-Day Learning Challenge

The 7-day protocol only requires 1 hour of upfront time, and it is designed to save you an hour per day (it did for me) that get sucked up in distractions. This way, you have more time for learning the most valuable information in the world.

This month, we spent dozens of hours researching all of the tools available and then actually testing the system with 10+ people until we settled on a very easy-to-do 7-day challenge that can provide life-changing results.

In this presentation, we share 30+ life-changing tools and resources for managing the complexity of YouTube, podcasts, web surfing, and email in order to learn the fastest without distraction.

(We divided up the presentation into four sections to make it easier to consume.)

    Learning Loop

The most important skill anybody can learn is the ability to learn rare and useful skills on-demand. Across warfare, AI, learning sciences, business, philosophy and animal intelligence, there is almost the same exact loop. I call this the Learning Loop mental model, and it is the fundamental learning process of the universe.
